About Me
I began my counselling career in 2002, working in a drug and alcohol outreach team. From 2008 I have worked as a clinical psychologist, gaining experience in both inpatient and community mental health settings before beginning private practice. Since 2014 I have worked full-time in private practice in Melbourne's inner north, where I definitely feel I have found my niche. I have found it incredibly rewarding to see clients making changes in their lives and overcoming their challenges.
Earlier in life, during travels in India and Thailand, I became interested in yoga, meditation and Eastern philosophy. So when mindfulness became mainstream in Western psychology, it was a natural fit for me. My passions in life include family, fitness (mostly cycling), getting into nature, and playing music with friends.
My Work
I work individually with adults, and sometimes with adolescents, on a broad range of client issues and clinical disorders. These include anxiety, trauma, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use & addictions, stress, emotion regulation, neurodiversity, and men’s issues.
I also enjoy providing couple therapy and adult family therapy.
Underlying all my work is a foundation of client-centred support, in tandem with motivational challenge and goal-setting. I like to tailor my approach to suit the client, as I find each individual responds uniquely to each approach.
I am also a Board-approved supervisor.
